In 2016 our Canadian-import and the master of all ceremonies, Anjum Hanafi, started the yearly Ramadan-tradition known as "FEED IT FORWARD". This is an opportunity for community members to provide a hot meal, cold water, and dose of humanity to our homeless sisters and brothers in Austin.
~ We'll meet at 6:00p.m at the Community First Village located at 9301 Hog Eye Road, Austin 78724
You can participate by donating, distributing, or both! Please indicate your participation level so we can plan accordingly. Each meal is $10 and you can donate here
**In some circumstances, a Muslim is not able to fulfill his or her religious obligation to fast during the month of Ramadan, or may want to recompense for a broken oath.
“Fidya” is a donation type within the Islamic tradition paid by individuals who cannot fulfill the obligation of fasting due to illness or old age. Fidya payments are meant to feed a miskeen (person in need) for each of the fasting days missed. The estimated cost, on guidance from the Fiqh Council of North America, is $10 for each day missed.
A sponsorship towards this project would be considered a valid Fidya.**
You can make a donation here, please put FEED IT FOWARD in the note.
