Spiritual Connection Groups are small (typically 2 – 10 members), which meet together regularly (often 1-2 times per month depending on the group members), centering around the Islamic value of suhba or companionship/accompaniment. They form for the express purpose of encouraging each member to foster and develop their spirituality as well as a sense of companionship, or suhba - whether through sharing of stories and narratives or to situations and scenarios, which they process together as a group in a safe, judgment-free space. The stories shared need not be explicitly religious in their content or aim, nor should they be stories that have been shared repeatedly before or are those which make the participant feel uncomfortable in sharing. These stories which comprise our everyday lives - going to work, meeting a friend, traveling, experiencing some kind of loss or gain, etc. - all hold meaning, and as a group, we will navigate through them to find a deeper spiritual, emotional, and relational meaning, ultimately helping us connect to one another better, as well as our Creator, inshAllah.

All are invited and welcome to take part in this group activity as they are able. These group sessions would be led by our in-house chaplain Usama Malik, MDiv.

Would you be interested in participating in a Spiritual Connection Group or learning more? If so, please complete this form to stay informed on its development and schedule
